This coffee shop is from 1946! Gotta get the egg coffee as that's what they're known for.

Cute cafe tucked away off a busy street. Egg coffee is only 25k and so so delicious! Lots of great photos on the walls, felt almost like a museum. Good view of the lake too!

Cha Ca Thang Long

My local friend (shoutout Max!) recommended this spot. Cha ca is a dish local to Hanoi. It's traditionally made with hemibagrus which is a genus of catfish and the way it's served is quite an experience as it's cooked at the table. Was sooo delicious!

Northern Soul Rooftop Bar

I'm not much of a drinker/nightlife-goer anymore, however my friends and I wanted a beer. This spot was great. Rooftop bar on a busy street, but sorta hidden from the craziness. Cut through the ground floor restaurant (which is unaffiliated) and take the elevator to the top.
