Hoa Lo Prison Relic

Prison used in both the Indochina war & the American/Vietnam war. Fascinating to walk through. I grabbed the audio self-guide. It was a few bucks and I would say worth it. Learned a ton more from it. This is a 1-2 hour activity.

Ngõ 224 Lê Duẩn

Train street. The heading photo from this guide is from train street. It's definitely filled with tourists, but I've never been to a city where a train goes this close to people's homes. Had to check it out. It's quite cool. I don't really understand the security. They have guards trying to prevent you from going in, but folks who own a business in there are allowed to pull you in? Regardless, let someone take you to their business to get in, pay a few dollars for a drink, then walk around. We posted up hoping a train would come, but sounded like the schedule was inconsistent.

John McCain Memorial

Being an American in Hanoi, I wanted to check this out. It's not much and honestly this shouldn't be high on your list. I was close by and decided to walk to it. Was cool to learn about John McCain's time being imprisoned in Hoa Lo Prison.
