Penang

Malaysia

China House

You've gotta get the tiramasu cake. Out of this world! Cool coffee shop that feels like it keeps going. Do explore the place before sitting down. They've got an art gallery upstairs & I think a live-music bar in the back in the evening. My friend and I came here mid day.

Teksen Restaurant

This place draws a crowd so be careful what time you get there. Delicious cantonese food. The double roasted pork was fantastic. Paired with a side of rice, I was a happy guy.

Lagenda House & Cafe

I stumbled a cross this spot and ended up going twice in 1 week. The beef rendang was my favorite, so much so that I've added it to my monthly meals I make at home.

Macallum Connoisseurs Coffee Company

Coffee shop that's built like a brewery.

Pasar Lebuh Cecil

I didn't discover this wet market/hawker until the end of my time in Penang. I had some duck noodle soup that was delicious. Supposedly the duck noodle soup spot is famous, according to 1 guy I talked to there.

Deen's Maju Nasi Kandar

I didn't really know what I was ordering as it's not listed in english, but I got some chicken & rice curry dish. Nasi Kandar is the icon indian muslim dish in Penang that you've gotta try.

Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul

This place will queue up. There's 2 ice desserts you have to try while in Penang, not because they're great, but because they're very very unique and known to Penang. 1. Chendol - made with shaved ice, coconut milk, palm sugar, and green rice flour jelly called cendol. 2 - Ice Kacang - made with shaved ice, red beans, jelly, and sweet syrup
